2000 Pontiac Grand Am

For several years, Pontiac Grand Am has been undergoing refinements and innovations.
In the 2000 edition of the Grand Am, it has been with a big change having an available
Getrag 5-speed manual transmission featured in the 2.4 L engine. This new features
make the automatic unit an option for 4-cylinder models.The 2000 Grand Am also
has two new exterior colors, both of which are metallic, the Navy Blue and the
Redfire. In turn, Pontiac has dropped Camel for its interior color.
In addition to its standard features, Pontiac Grand Am employs daytime running
lights, fog lamps, air conditioning and power locks, which are all optional features
in the past. There are also available options such as rear spoiler, power sunroof
and ETR AM/FM/CD/Cassette Stereo with high performance sound system. It also features
and added standard rear child-seat anchors. It is in the 2000 modification also
that the V6 engine made 175 horsepower rather than the usual 170 when it is installed
in GT model.
In this year's recall, vehicles with problems involving rear suspension, switch
and hazard warning lights, body structure and manual transmission were the main
concern. These vehicles like the others that were involved in recalls were repaired
and installed with proper parts. This step were primarily done to avoid the risk
of having an accidents and injuries to its passengers.
