1995 Pontiac Grand Am

In the year 1995, several engineering changes occurred to Grand Am models like
the SE and GT. It includes the addition of variable-effort power steering as an
option and rear suspension revisions aided to improve handling. This year's models
also have a standard revised version of the 16-valve Quad 4 engine. GM also designed
it to run smoother as they gave it two internal balance shafts that rotate in
the opposite direction of the engines crankshaft to damp out most of the vibration.
It will also have a horsepower that is rated at 150 with standard 5-speed manual.
The 1995 Grand Am goes with the optional features similar to the 94 editions.
The cruise/speed control, power windows, leather seats, sunroof, transmissions
and others that goes with the '94 can still be found optional to the '95s edition.
The
specifications also remain as it was in the '94, only the curb weight increased
to 2,888 lbs. It also still goes with the standard safety features such as ABS
brakes and the driver's air bag.
This year, General Motors recalled vehicles with starter assembly defects. This
defect can result into fire in the car's interior in the event that the driver
hold the key in the œstart position longer that needed because of the failure.
As an answer, they've installed a relay kit to the vehicle and verified that it
will start with a battery. However, the recall didn't cover battery replacements.
