1993 Pontiac Grand Am

Pontiac Grand Am's 1993 model had undergone some innovation as compared to the
'92s. As General Motors tries to refine the harsh and noisy Quad 4 series of engines,
a three 4-cylinder engines all lose five horsepower. There are also revisions
in its climate controls while the SE gets new instrument-panel graphics. The 1993
Grand Am model has a lot similar optional features like the 92's. It comes with
the option of air conditioning system, cruise/speed control and everything else
that is optional in the 92 only the radio can come alone or you can still have
it with the cassette or the CD. It also has the optional 2.3 L or 3.3 L engine
but the 2.3 L becomes 155 hp while the 3.3 remains at 160 hp.
In case of its specifications, the only changes it has was the increased curb
weight of 2,862 lbs as compared to the 92's 2,777 lbs. It still comes with the
standard ABS brakes. In September 14th this year, General Motors issued a recall
for some Grand Am vehicle due to defects involving electrical system, ignition
and switch. The problem is that the neutral start safety switch, believed to have
been fractured during installation, can result to a no-start condition and the
vehicle can then be started in gear causing an accident. There were 1,103 vehicles
affected.
